Overview

With so many different car accidents in the fourth biggest city in the United States and surroundings, car insurances don't always provide the best buying price. To address this concern, Crashed RideTexas was designed to  offer  the best price possible in the market  to purchase any crashed car.

It features an intuitive fill out form to verify the qualification of a vehicle. Once approved, it provides detailed information about the pick up arrangement and then payment.

Context

Crashed RideTexas is a business website that I designed , from conception of the brand to execution. The goal of the project was to design the user flow that would function well and look aesthetically pleasing across all breakpoints and devices. I also included marketing strategies to position the brand against competitors.

Research

Competitive Analysis

My design process started with researching similar crashed cars's buyers websites currently in the market. This will allow me to understand the functionality, identify their strengths and better opportunities for my client. I did an analysis of two competitors: Cash Cars buyer and Pull-A-Part.

Interviews

We connected with  previous crashed car sellers and conducted interviews to better understand  their concerns with the insurance companies and alternative ways to sell their vehicles.

User Persona

After completing a competitive analysis, I recruited and interviewed 5 people from different establishments who were interested in selling their old cars or their cars have been damaged in an accident. I then created user personas based on my user research that helped me understand a realistic picture of users’ goals, needs, and behaviors

Concept and Strategy

Creating a simple account and filling out a form, customers can receive an offer by just providing  the vehicle information and other details to help to determine the status of the car. To avoid long waiting period for the insurance calls or low offers,  Crashed RideTexas provide a platform where the company evaluate the vehicle and make an offer within 48 hours. It allows users to have a quick response and money once the user approves the offer.

User Flow

To communicate the concept and information architecture, I generated site map, user flows and worked together with the client to determine how the services will be provided.

Lo-Fi Sketches

I sketched multiple options for each screen, continually referencing the target audience, company mission and objectives to share successful stories with customers.

Hi-Fi Prototype

During this phase we iterated our design based on Lo-Fi validation findings. We learned that there were still some confusion around how to search per product types, bookmark projects or save products in the app. Therefore, we focused on improving the above while finalizing our UI design.
